Jammu, Sept 3: Under the Union Government’s programme NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAN, Anti Narcotic Task Force, Police Station Jammu Zone, has launched manhunt to arrest Narcotic drug suppliers who are involved in mischievous activities of Narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. In multiple successful operations Sleuths of ANTF raided in Jammu, Punjab, Kashmir and Delhi, wherein 4 hard-core narcotics drug suppliers have been arrested. It is pertinent to mention here that recently ANTF has arrested one Ramprakash Gupta S/O Ved Prakash Gupta of Link Road, Jammu who is a notorious narcotic drug supplier of the UT. Ramprakash Gupta revealed that he receives Narcotic and Psychotropic drugs from a Delhi based drug supplier Mohd Shakir S/O Mohd. Aqil, R/O 7/6 upper ground floor, Ansari Road, Sachdeva lane, Daryaganj Central Delhi. ANTF found links of these two drug suppliers during investigation and raided multiple locations in the NCR. Finally, Mohd Shakir was arrested from Jama masjid area, New Delhi after hectic efforts. The investigation and arrests are done by Inspector Amandeep Singh of Police station ANTF, Jammu. With the arrest of these two drug peddlers, ANTF Jammu has been able to break the nexus of Narcotics and Psychotropic drug dealers of Jammu and Delhi. Both the arrested peddlers have been put behind the bars. He was putting life of thousands of youths at risk by making them drug addicts.
In a second major operation, Ishfaq Ahmad Mir S/O Farooq Mir R/O Bungam, Rajpura, Pulwama was arrested from Qaziquand Anantnag. He was a prime accused in Case Fir No. 2/2023 of PS ANTF Jammu and was evading his arrest for a long time. He and his brother are main suppliers of poppy straw in Rajpura Pulwama. His brother Arif Ahmed Mir is already arrested in Case Fir. No 19/2022. The whole family is involved in purchasing and selling of poppy straw from JK to other states. In the same nexus, a father son duo Harvinder Singh Bassi and his father Digvijay Singh Bassi have already been arrested and lodged in jail few months back, thereby establishing and arresting the forward and backward chain in the case. The peddlers in this FIR were Nazir Qadir and Jaswinder Singh who were arrested with 830 Kgs narcotics and are lodged in jail. The investigation and arrest is done by Inspector Sanjeet Sharma of Police Station ANTF, Jammu.
In third operation, Inspector Varuneshwar Singh of PS ANTF Jammu arrested one Zahid Sheikh S/O Nazir Sheikh R/O Ranbirpura, Mattan, Anantnag. He was wanted in Case Fir No 3/23 PS ANTF, Jammu. He used to receive drug from Delhi and distribute them among the local youth of Anantnag.
In fourth operation, Inspector Vikas Hans arrested a narcotic distributor Shinderpal Singh S/O Satnam Singh, R/O Burj Hassan, Philllaur Punjab from his house. He was wanted in Case Fir NO. 10/ 22 PS ANTF Jammu. His modus operandi was to receive narcotics from Kashmir based suppliers and distribute it among the youth of Punjab.
These arrests are big sigh of relief for the sleuths as well as youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Other drug peddlers and their clients involved in these nexuses are being investigated and more arrests are expected in future. All these raids and arrests were executed under the guidance of Shamsher Singh JKPS, DYSP PS ANTF Jammu Zone under the supervision of Shri. Raj Kumar SSP ANTF J&K.
ANTF J&K appeals general public and youth to stay away from drugs and to share all information regarding drug distributors and peddlers with ANTF so that strict legal actions are taken against such miscreants as per law. The identity of the informant as well as whistle blower shall be kept confidential. ANTF J&K has also appealed every citizen of UT of J&K to come forward in the war against drug abuse. Society can be helpful in breaking the demand-supply chain so that the target of complete eradication of menace of drugs from our society can be achieved.
