4 smugglers, 24 thieves arrested; 11 theft case solved, cash & gold recovered in 2 weeks

Jammu, Jan 30:  The police of Samba under the supervision of honest and dedicated Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh has taken the challenge to wipe out the crime from the said district and in a short spell of time got many successes to nab the criminals including smugglers and thieves, His approach has sent a strong message among the criminals that they have to change themselves by shedding the criminal activities and living a normal and peaceful life.
In its intensive drive against the thieves, Samba police arrested 24 thieves & solved 11 theft cases in just 2 weeks under the overall supervision of new SSP Samba Benam Tosh JKPS. In past days, it was matter of grave concern that thieves under the very nose of the police were making thefts and openly mocking at the police, whereas the people were living under constant fear and losing trust on the police as the people were feeling helpless to protect their hard earned assets. Some days prior the credibility of the police was under clouds and thefts were remained talk of the town.
Under the overall supervision of new SSP Benam Tosh within 2 weeks 24 thieves have been arrested and stolen items in lakhs including gold items recovered from the possession of thieves. Whereas, heroine smugglers Billa & Kala besides others including a lady drug peddler often selling white drug Chitta was also arrested by Samba police under his supervision. It is pertinent to mention that Benam Tosh is known for his honesty and integrity and professionalism in the police department. He has opted the different type of policing and yielded concrete & good results are in public domain in open. On the Republic Day, the chief guest DDC Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma has showered all praises on Benam Tosh and applauded for his professional approach towards law and order situation in Samba.
The 1999 batch JKPS officer, SSP Benam Tosh has remained SHO Hiranagar as probationary DySP, Head of SOG Kathua, SDPO Nowshera Rajouri, DySP Operations Udhampur, DySP operations Jammu, Additional SP Kathua , Staff Officer to DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Additional SP Udhampur, I/C SSP Udhampur, Staff officer to IGP Railway J&K, Commandant IRP 17th Battalion Mattan Anantnag  and Commandant IRP 19th Battalion Kathua.
Benam Tosh has twice discharged his duties as Incharge Holy Cave in South Kashmir Himalayas and has been deployed in Amarnath Yatra for over ten times. He has also functioned as SSP JPCR Pahalgam and Incharge Special Law & Order deployment in Kargil & Leh districts of Ladakh. He is also having performed duties in Warwan & Dachhan areas of Kishtwar, Marmat area of Doda, Ind-Gool area of Ramban, Narla-Bambal area of Rajouri, Holy Trikuta Hills and several other tough terrains of J&K. He was instrumental in encounter against the dreaded terrorists who came to blast the holy cave of Mata Vaishno Devi was mesmerizing & even till date in the memories of the people of all over in India.
Benam Tosh functioned as Parade Commander of J&K’s biggest national parades record seven times at Srinagar. People have sigh of relief after the capture of these thieves who made their lives miserable and now regaining their confidence that they can live their lives without any free fear from burglars and thieves anymore.
