Rajouri, Jan 16: On Monday District Police Rajouri filed a charge sheet against two accused- including one presently operating from PoK (Pakistan)- who in the month of August 2021 had thrown a grenade into a house in the Khandli Chowk area of Rajouri Municipal Council in which 3 years old boy was killed and 6 other family members were injured.
Both the accused were booked, in case FIR No: 542/2021 at Rajouri police station under sections 307/120-B/121/122 IPC, 3/4 Explosive Act, 13-ULA (P), and the charge sheet filed before the court of the 3rd Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu.
The charge sheet was filed by Deputy SP Hqrs Rajouri, Chanchal Singh under the supervision of SSP, Mohammad Aslam, JKPS.
The accused are Altaf Hussain Shah s/o Qadir Shah (cast Sayeed) and resident of village Draj in Kotranka tehsil of Rajouri district and Mohd Qasim @ Suleiman (absconding & in PoK) s/o Mohd Shafi (caste Gujjar) resident of village Angrala in Mahore tehsil of district Reasi.
The accused person threw a grenade into the house of one Romesh Singh s/o Lal Chand r/o Khandli Chowk and due to the explosion one child Veer Singh (3) s/o Jasbir Singh was killed in the explosion. Those who were injured in the grenade attack include Romesh Singh & his wife Siya Devi; Jasbir Singh & Balbir Singh sons of Romesh Singh; Karan Singh s/o Balbir Singh, & Arjun Singh s/o Kulbir Singh.
The accused were associated with the terrorist outfit LeT. The investigation exposed the terror network in J&K and PoK.
It is pertinent to mention here that absconder Mohd Qasim @ Suleman s/o Mohd Shafi resident of Angrala in Reasi district, was also charge sheeted by Rajouri police in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court in Jammu on 23/12/2022.
He was booked along with three other Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) associates; namely Talib Hussain s/o Haider Shah; Mohd Shabir s/o Ghulam Hussain; Mohd Sadiq s/o Ibrahiem, all residents of village Draj in Kotranka sub-division in Rajouri district; and were booked under Unlawful Activities(Prevention) Act and Explosive Substance Act.
During the course of the investigation, it is found that all of them were associated with the proscribed terror group and involved in terror-related activities and the trio was arrested by Rajouri police in the months of June and July 2022.
