Jammu, Nov 9: Former Chief Minister and Chairman Democratic Azad Party, Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday said that overall development of Jammu and Kashmir is his goal.
Azad, in the last leg of his visit to erstwhile Doda district addressing a public meeting at Kheleni in Doda district mentioned about the various developmental projects initiated by him during his term as J&K chief minister.
He assured, “all projects will be completed in the best minimum possible time and those which have been abandoned by the various successive governments will be completed in the shortest possible time.”
Azad also mentioned about the local problems brought to notice by the local leadership and the public of the area.
Azad was very critical about the lackadaisical approach of different governments towards the far flung areas which have been ignored by them.
“The unemployment is at its peak and no attention has been paid towards the problems of the labour class because the people at the helms were totally unaware of their difficulties,” said the veteran politician and reiterated the stand of his party for grant of statehood at the earliest, land and jobs for the local population only.
“The return of land to those people will be assured where the land has been taken by the authorities on flimsy grounds and they will be vested with ownership rights,” assured Azad adding, “the agenda of my party is for the overall development of all regions of Jammu and Kashmir and to ensure cooperation and love among all walks of life.”
