Rajouri, Sept 5: Finally, in a rare instance, Pakistan; which has an old habit of disowning and refusing the bodies of its own people; has accepted the body of Tabarak Hussain resident of PoK, who was a part of Fidayeen group (terrorists) launched by ISI of Pakistan Army to attack the Indian forward post in Rajouri district on August 21.
Tabarak Hussain, who was captured alive in an injured condition and was under treatment in the Army hospital at Rajouri, succumbed to his injuries (cardiac arrest) on Saturday.
On Saturday the Indian Army contacted its counterparts in Pakistan on the hotline for handing over the body and on Monday Pakistan authorities accepted the body at Cross LoC Point in Poonch district.
After completing all the medico-legal and international formalities, a team of District Rajouri police took Tabarak’s body to Chakan-da-Bagh cross LoC point in Poonch district.
“Indian authorities handed over the body of Tabarak Hussain s/o Mistri Malik resident of Sabzkote, Chorhoi in Kotli district in PoK to Pakistan authorities,” said an official.
From the Pakistan side, the body was received by a Major of Balooch Regiment of Pakistan Army, Tariq Mehmood, Naib Tehsildar Hajira; SHO Hajira, Tariq, and father of Tabarak Mistri Malik.
It was the first time that Pakistan has accepted the body of its terrorist in the border districts of Rajouri & Poonch.
On August 21, Tabarak was captured alive by the Indian troops in the Jhnagar sector when a group of 6 terrorists, including Tabarak Hussain, after crossing the LoC sneaked into the Indian side to execute a fidayeen /suicide attack on the Indian Army forward post.
Tabarak while cutting the fence near the forward post was challenged by the Indian troops and was later captured in injured condition while other terrorists managed to retrieve towards PoK.
While under treatment, Tabarak informed the reporters that he was a member of the Fidayeen Group and came to kill the soldiers (Indian).
He also admitted being trained by the Pakistan Army’s ISI and (group) was sent by Col Yunus Chaudhry of ISI to attack the Indian Army post and Col had paid Rs 30,000 Pakistani Rupees for the task.
Pakistan has an old habit of disowning & refusing to accept the bodies of its own people, including soldiers/officers killed in Kargil war, and terrorists including Mumbai attacks gunman Ajmal Kasab.
“By accepting the body of Tabarak Hussain, Pakistan has admitted being involved in aiding and abetting terror in J&K,” said sources.
In 2016, Tabarak Hussain and his brother Haroon Ali were captured by the Indian Army from Jhangar sector and after a 26-month prison sentence were repatriated on humanitarian grounds from the Bagha-Attari border.
