Jammu, Aug 19: The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has indicated his reiteration and commitment to provide spotless and corruption-free governance to the people of Jammu & Kashmir and in this step he had not tolerated the hugger-mugger in the JKP SI selection and now he assured for re-examination very soon to give a chance to hard-working students without any discrepancies and assured that genuine aspirants need not worry as they will again qualify.
Lt Governor Manoj Sinha said that the administration is going to conduct the re-exam of Jammu and Kashmir sub-inspector posts in October this year and worthy aspirants need not to worry, as he was being interviewed by BBC Hindi correspondent.
It is pertinent to mention that the sub-inspector recruitment process was earlier scrapped by the Manoj Sinha-led administration after mass bungling was found in the written test conducted in April this year.
The case of mass bungling was later handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for in-depth investigation. Last month as part of the investigation CBI conducted raids at over two dozen locations in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We cancelled the exams after receiving complaints and handed over the case to the CBI. Some facts were found in the complaints after the investigation,” Sinha said and added, “The deserving candidates need not to worry, they will qualify again. But gone are the days when people will be selected by running a racket.”
Denying about the arrest, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has claimed that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has neither been incarcerated nor placed under house arrest. He clarified that the government has not arrested any social, political, or religious leader.
In response to a question, Sinha said that cops have been deployed around the house of Mirwaiz for his ‘safety’. “In 2019 also, no Public Safety Act was slapped against him. His father had unfortunately been assassinated. Police deployed around him are for his security,” he said.
“It is he (Mirwaiz) who has to decide what he wants. From our side he has neither been arrested nor placed under house arrest,” Sinha said.
