For the first time since Independence health camp held in remote village in Kotranka

Rajouri, May 26: First time since Independence a Mega Health Camp was held on Wednesday in a remote village Dhevan (in Shahpur Panchayat) in Kandi Health Block in Kotranka sub-district in Rajouri district on Thursday under the supervision of Dr. Iqbal Malik, BMO.
The Health Department organised the health Camp under the directions of Dr. Saleem Ur Rehman, Director Health Services (Jammu) & Dr.Abdul Hamid Zargar, CMO Rajouri with an aim to provide modern health care services at the doorsteps of poor & marginalized people living in the remote areas in the district.
Hundreds of delighted & thrilled inhabitants of the area participated and availed benefits free of cost.
Ayushman Bharat- SEHAT Golden Cards were issued by a team on the spot. General medical check-up, including dental, eye, ENT, and treatment was provided to the patients.
More than 325 patients received consultation from doctors while medical screening of non-communicable diseases (NCD) like hypertension and diabetes was also conducted by a team of doctors.
All medicines were made available to the patients free of cost including allopathic and AYUSH medicine.
Mohd Ayoub Lone CHO Kandi delivered a lecture for awareness about various health schemes of the government, such as ABHA digital Health ID, telemedicine facilities, SEHAT card etc.
The public was also given information about proper handwashing techniques, maintaining hygiene, and the benefits of a balanced diet.
Dr. Iqbal Malik, BMO; who is also District Mental Health Program Officer, provided Mental Health Counselling as well as screening services to the patients.
“The Medical Board constituted for issuing medical certificates issued 125 old age certificates, 30 fitness certificates, 7 widow certificates, and 2 illness certificates to the beneficiaries,” said Dr. Iqbal Malik.
It was a holistic event where all health facilities were provided to the public at their doorstep.
“This was the first health camp held in Shahpur panchayat and the people were provided health services at their doorsteps. The credit goes to the team members who made this camp a great success despite travelling through difficult terrain on foot,” said Dr. Iqbal Malik, BMO, Kandi Health Block.
