Rajouri, Apr 6: Nisar Ahmed, a teacher in a middle school in the Rajouri district of J&K and an accused of beating two minor girls severely allegedly for showing poor performance in studies, has been booked and arrested by the police for further investigation.
The school is situated at Khadurian in Draman Panchayat of the Kontranka subdivision.
However, Angrez Singh, the father of a 4-year-old girl in a video clip viral on social media platforms alleged that Nisar Ahmed teacher thrashed his daughter as she was going to school with a ‘Tika’ on her forehead amid Navratri festival.
For the last few days, the teacher was harassing the girl for wearing Tika during school hours and she complained frequently about this.
“Why you wore Tika. Are you married? Nisar was asking my minor girl who even doesn’t know the meaning of Tika or Sindoor” alleged Angrez Singh.
Immediately after the video goes viral Additional DC (Rajouri) Sachin Dev Singh (on DC’s direction) suspended the teacher and attached him to the office of Additional DC Kotranka who was also appointed as an inquiry officer.
Mohammad Aslam, SSP Rajouri said that after the complaint about the beating of the minor girl and using some objectionable words against her, police immediately booked the teacher under sections 342(wrongful confinement),352 (assault),323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) IPC & 23 JJ Act.
“Teacher has been arrested. Police is investigating the matter. The truth will be brought to the fore. If the allegations (use of objectionable words against the girl) are found true, more sections of the IPC would be added in the FIR” said SSP.
Hurting a child amounts to a crime and can make a person liable for punishment under various sections of the IPC and section 23 of JJ Act that states whoever has charge of the child, assaults a child, is punishable with imprisonment which may extend to 6 months or fine or both.
Meanwhile, Angrez Singh has demanded security for the family after the arrest of the teacher.
