Rajouri, March 19: Three accused involved in the sacrilegious act allegedly committed last Sunday here at village Chakli, under the jurisdiction of Rajouri police station, have been arrested by Rajouri police.
District Police Office Rajouri has claimed to solve the sacrilegious case within six days with the arrest of three accused and further legal proceedings in the matter are going on.
“On March 12, a report of a sacrilegious act was received from Chakli village in Rajouri after which a police team from Chatyar (Chingus) police post headed by Sub Inspector (probationer), Sahil Chowdhary, in-charge Police Post reached on the spot,” said DPO.
Due to the sensitivity of the matter more senior officers along with cops, including Additional SP (Rajouri) Vivek Shekhar; Deputy SP (HQs) Vinod Sharma & Fareed Ahmed, SHO; also reached there and kept the situation under control.
In this matter a case under section 295-A (FIR 92/2022) was registered in Rajouri police station and acting swiftly police started an investigation.
“Investigation of the case was conducted on the speedy note on professional lines and several suspects were rounded up. Three accused were found indulging in the sacrilegious and have been arrested,” said a senior police officer.
Further investigation and legal formalities and proceedings into the matter are going on, he added.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri, Mohammad Aslam said that there is no space for anyone whosoever will try to disturb the peace by taking law in hands.
“Jammu and Kashmir police is committed for strict action against those indulged in unlawful activities, especially the one having the potential to disturb the peaceful situation,” said SSP.
