Rajouri witnesses surge in Covid cases on 5th consecutive day

Rajouri, Jan 9: Spurt in Covid cases in Rajouri district continued on the On 5th consecutive day on Sunday the surge in COVID cases has been witnessed in Rajouri district and 12 more positive cases were detected today out of reports received for 1610 samples conducted during the last 24 hours.
During the last five days 53 persons, including 12 on Sunday, have been detected positive thus raising the number of Active cases in the district to 60 which is a matter of concern for the district administration.
Today the health department has also collected 2378 samples for Covid testing.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Teams in Rajouri district on Sunday have recovered a fine of Rs 26,850 from 276 violators of COVID SOPs taking the total amount fined since April 1, 2021 to Rs 77,56,434.
During this week (January 2 to9) 21571 samples, including RAT + RT-PCR+ True-Nat, were collected for testing out of which 56 cases were detected positive while one patient died.
At present, there are 60 active cases in the district out of which eight patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals, and CCCs.
Five patients are under treatment in GMC&AH Rajouri and in the Army /BSF hospitals, 52 patients are in home isolation, and 3 patients are under treatment outside the district.
As many as 514 children (15-17 years) were administrated the first dose of Covaxin on Sunday and since January 3, 8611 children have been vaccinated in the district.
During the first & second waves 7,43,647 tests, including RAT (5,67,576) and RT-PCR (1,76,071 have been conducted to date in the Rajouri district among them 11443 were tested positive out of which 11143 have recovered and 240 died.
