New Delhi, Nov 17: India on Wednesday got reelected to the Executive Board of UNESCO for the term 2021-25 with 164 votes.
Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi in a tweet said: “Delighted to inform that India has made it to the Executive Board Of UNESCO.
“Heartiest congratulations Thumbs up and thankful to all the member countries who supported our candidature.”
India’s Permanent mission at UNESCO, in a tweet, said: “India gets reelected to the Executive Board of UNESCO with 164 votes for the term 2021-25 !”
Vishal V. Sharma, India’s Permanent Representative of India to UNESCO, thanked member countries of UNESCO for voting for India.
“We thank the Member States of #UNESCO for giving #India a large number of votes and electing @IndiaatUNESCO to the new #ExecutiveBoard for a new term 2021-2025.” UNI
