Rajouri, Oct 31: To commemorate the valour of the Police martyrs, District Rajouri police has been organising a series of programmes under the jurisdictions of police stations across the district.
In one such event a ‘Run for Unity’ marathon was organised at Nowshera for both men & women in two groups, i.e 16-35 years and 35 years & above.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ms Sheema Nabi Qasba, IPS, who was the chief guest, and Amit Verma, Additional SP (Nowhera) flagged off the ‘Run for Unity’from bus stand in the presence of Zonal Physical Education Officer, (ZPEO), ,SHOs of Dharmashal, Sunderbani, & Nowhera police stations respectively.
About 400 enthusiasts from across the Nowshera sub-division participated in the event in different age groups.
Ms. Sheema Nabi Qasba also distributed Trophies and Certificates among the top 10 position holders in each group.
Run for Unity at Nowshera was part of a series of programmes organised by District Police Rajouri across Rajouri District to commemorate the valour of Police Martyrs” said Ms. Sheema Nabi Qasba.
She also emphasised the importance of Games and Sports in personality development and in inculcating the spirit of sportsmanship, especially amongst the youngsters.
Amit Verma, Additional SP while giving a vote of thanks, appreciated the support provided by Youth Services & Sports Department, Civil Defense Department, BMO Nowshera, Municipal Committee Nowshera, Principal GDC Nowshera, and Press Club Nowshera for making the event successful.
Additional SP, BDC chairman Nowshera & SHO Nowshera facilitated the Chief guest, Ms.Sheema Nabi Qasba, IPS with a memento.
