Crop damage: DC Reasi sanctions Rs. 8.13 Lakh relief in favour of 340 farmers

REASI, NOV 02: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, S. Charandeep Singh, today sanctioned an amount of Rs. 4.63,830 Lakh relief under SDRF in favour of 161 farmers whose crop was damaged due to the recent hailstorm, taking the total relief amount paid to the farmers in past one week to Rs. 8.13 lakh.

An amount of Rs. 3.50 Lakh (Three Lakh Fifty Thousand One Hundred Sixty Eight) was sanctioned in favour of 179 beneficiaries on October 28, 2021.

The relief amount is being credited into the respective bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries through DBT mode.

On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, an extensive field survey was conducted jointly by the Revenue and Agriculture Department to ascertain the extent of damage to the crops.  The joint team conducted the survey in affected villages of the District where the standing crop was damaged due to hailstorm and subsequently the relief cases were prepared and sanctioned.
