Jammu, Oct 07: In a swift and decisive breakthrough, Police Station Miran Sahib has successfully solved a sensational attempt to murder case within days of the incident. Two accused have been arrested and key weapons used in the crime recovered, showcasing the Jammu Police’s unwavering commitment to public safety and its zero-tolerance policy against violent crime.
The case, registered under FIR No. 50/2025 under Sections 109, 333, 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3/4/25 of the Arms Act, pertains to a violent attack that took place on April 10, 2025. As per the complaint, the accused – Jagandeep Singh alias Rubal, son of Gurdeep Singh, resident of Dinday Kalan, and Vinod Kumar alias Duggar, son of Jagdesh Lal, resident of Nihalpur Simbal – followed the victim on a motorcycle at Dinday Kalan and launched a brutal assault with clear intent to kill. The assailants allegedly opened fire during the attack, spreading panic in the area.
Taking prompt action, a daring Inspector Azad Manhas, Station House Officer of Police Station Miran Sahib, under the close supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu, launched an intensive investigation. Working with precision, the police team tracked down and apprehended both accused within a matter of days.
During sustained interrogation, the duo confessed to their involvement in the attack. On their disclosure, the police recovered the weapons used in the crime – a Desi Katta (country-made pistol) and a Toka (sharp-edged weapon) – further solidifying the case against them.
The recovery of the weapon of offence not only adds weight to the prosecution’s case but also underlines the efficiency and professionalism demonstrated by the investigating team headed by bold SHO Azad Manhas.
