Poonch, September 17, 2025: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining, District Police Poonch today seized multiple vehicles engaged in unlawful extraction of minor minerals from river Suran near Dhundak Mandir.
During the operation, Police teams seized one JCB machine, one tipper, and four tractor trolleys that were found involved in illegal mining activities. The swift action was taken to curb the menace of illegal extraction, which causes environmental damage and revenue loss to the government.
The Mining Department has been informed for further necessary action under relevant laws. District Police Poonch reiterates its firm resolve to act sternly against all those indulging in illegal mining activities across the district.
District Police also appeals to the general public to cooperate in this drive and report such illegal activities promptly to the nearest Police Station.
