Rajouri-Jammu, May 3: In a vibrant literary ceremony organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), the English translation of Santosh Sangra’s thought-provoking book Vichar Aushad: Therapeutic Thoughts was formally released.
The translation has been rendered into English by Prof. Vandana Sharma, Dean, School of Languages, Central University of Jammu, and Dr. Shachi Sood, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri.
Gracing the occasion as the chief guest, Shantmanu, Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary, lauded the literary endeavour, stating, “A book of such philosophical and therapeutic depth deserves a place in every academic institution’s library, where it can enrich young minds with the wealth of its introspective wisdom.”
Dr. Amrinder Amar, Former Additional Secretary, JKAACL, eloquently articulated the book’s central focus on women’s empowerment, observing that this theme finds authentic expression through the voices of its women authors and translators, thus creating a symphony of feminine strength and insight.
Prof. Gitanjali Rana, Principal, Government College for Women, Gandhinagar, commended the work for its timely resonance with the visionary goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
She emphasized that the book’s underpinning of value-based education serves as a beacon for nurturing moral, ethical, and humanistic virtues in learners at all stages of education.
Harvinder Kaur, Secretary, JKAACL, described the book as a spiritual compass that inspires readers to cultivate a harmonious and balanced life.
She remarked that the English translation significantly broadens the book’s horizon, paving the way for wider readership and scholarly engagement beyond linguistic boundaries.
