This strong action was carried out under the jurisdiction of Police Station Billawar and stands as a testimony to the district police’s unwavering commitment to dismantling the drug mafia operating in the region.
The operation, conducted under the stringent provisions of Sections 68-A(2)(c) and E read with 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, resulted in the freezing and seizure of a double-storey residential building valued at ?13.78 lakhs and a scooty (Registration No. JK08M-4244) worth approximately ?80,000. These assets were found to be illegally acquired through proceeds generated from narcotics smuggling and trafficking by the accused Rahul, alias Rotu, son of Balbir Singh, resident of Ward No. 4, Tehsil Ramkot, District Kathua.
The meticulous and coordinated operation was led by SHO PS Billawar, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, and assisted by Incharge PP Ramkot, Ranbheer Singh. Their efforts were guided under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Neeraj Padyar (JKPS) and executed under the overall strategic leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua, Shobit Saksena (IPS).
