Jammu, April 10: In a major crackdown against the illegal narcotics trade, Janipur Police have taken resolute action by seizing a double-storey residence located in Paloura, Jammu, valued at approximately ?45 lakh. The property belongs to a well-known drug trafficker, Vinod Kumar alias Kuda, son of Joginder Paul, resident of Dogra Hall, Jammu, and has been attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
The operation was spearheaded by Inspector Vikram Sharma, Station House Officer, Janipur, along with Investigation Officer Manzoor Ahmad Wani, under the close supervision of SDPO City West Dr. Satish Bhardwaj (JKPS), SP City North Shri Vivek Sharma (JKPS) and overall command of SSP Jammu Shri Joginder Singh (JKPS).
Vinod Kumar, who has been repeatedly apprehended for his involvement in narcotics trafficking in the jurisdictions of Bakshi Nagar, Pacca Danga, and Janipur police stations, has become a symbol of fear, particularly among parents concerned for the safety of their youth. The attached property, a lavish house in Paloura, was identified as benami, acquired through proceeds amassed from the illicit drug trade.
Investigations have clearly indicated that Vinod Kumar lacks any verifiable source of income, business establishment, or legal occupation that could substantiate the purchase of such an opulent property. This has further cemented the police’s claim that the house was bought using money generated through narcotics trafficking.
The confiscated property is now slated to be forwarded to SAFEMA (Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act) authorities in New Delhi for validation, which will reinforce the legal proceedings and may result in permanent forfeiture.
This landmark action underscores the Janipur Police’s unwavering dedication to eradicating the narcotics menace from society. By targeting the financial foundations of drug dealers, law enforcement aims to disrupt the entire supply chain and deter others involved in similar unlawful operations.
