Jammu Police Seized 11 vehicles involved in illegal mining

Jammu, October 22: Continuing its drive against illegal mining, dedicated teams of different Police Stations today siezed eight dumpers (vehicles) and three excavators involved in mining.
“In a quest to stern the menace of illegal mining, a multi-pronged strategy was devised by Jammu Police in which police teams of PP Chatha and PP Greater Kailash acted stringently on the specific inputs and raided at a location in their respective area and seized 11 vehicles involved in illegal mining”, a police spokesperson said.
“Nine vehicles i.e six dumpers bearing Registration Nos. JK08K-9868, JK02BX-0945, JK02CM-8172, JK02BG-8101, JK02BT-3077, PES6A95D320RS4000 and three excavators bearing Body Nos., PUNJM14ALN3178852, PUNJD14AXM3875554 and YQ15512538 by PP Chatha”, the spokesperson said.
“Two vehicles i.e one Tipper bearing Registration No. JKO2CO/9296 and one Dumper bearing Registration No JK02CU/2425, by PP Greater Kailash”, he added.
The DMO Jammu was also intimated about the same.
The recoveries were made by I/C PP Chatha PSI Harjinder Paul Singh and I/C PP Greater Kailash PSI Puneet Sharma in their respective jurisdiction.
It is pertinent to mention here that the mining was done in violation of order of High Court of J&K.
In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
