Doda, June 10: Intensifying its crackdown on drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Doda Police has arrested another woman drug peddler and recovered additional heroin in connection with FIR No. 150/2026 registered under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Doda.
According to police, a recent anti-narcotics operation conducted at Sadeeqaabad, Doda, led to the arrest of Gulshan Begum, wife of Yasar Ahmad, a resident of Sadeeqaabad. During the operation, police recovered approximately 32 grams of heroin (chitta)-like substance from her possession and registered a case under the NDPS Act.
During the course of investigation, sustained interrogation, technical analysis and follow-up inquiries led to the identification and arrest of another accused woman, Ruksana Begum, wife of Abdul Majeed, a resident of Chenani.
Police said that further investigation and disclosures made by the accused resulted in the recovery of an additional 7 grams of heroin (chitta)-like substance, strengthening the case and exposing further links in the narcotics supply network.
Doda Police stated that investigations are underway to uncover the backward and forward linkages of the drug syndicate and identify all individuals involved in the illegal trade of narcotic substances. Further arrests and recoveries have not been ruled out.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking, Doda Police urged the public to cooperate by sharing information related to drug abuse and narcotics smuggling, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
