Two Long-Absconding NDPS Offenders Arrested in Kulgam

Kulgam, Oct 17: In a major success against drug-related crimes, Kulgam Police have arrested two absconders who had been evading arrest for nearly two decades in NDPS Act cases.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh, son of Gh. Qadir Sheikh, resident of Nassu Badrahgund, wanted in FIR No. 107/2005 under Sections 15/18 NDPS Act, and Bilal Ahmad Ganie, son of Gh. Nabi Ganie, resident of Lalen Ganoor Kulgam (presently residing at Levdora near Railway Bridge Qazigund), wanted in FIR No. 223/2006 under Sections 15/18 NDPS Act of Police Station Qazigund.
Both had been absconding for about 19–20 years and were finally apprehended by the police team after sustained efforts.
SSP Kulgam, Shri Anayat Choudhary (IPS), commended the teams for their dedication and reaffirmed that Kulgam Police will continue its crackdown on absconders, particularly those involved in drug trafficking, to ensure that no offender escapes the law.
