Illegal Constructions Face Bulldozers as JDA Launches Stern Crackdown on Encroachments

Jammu, Jul 10: In a no-nonsense offensive against the growing menace of unauthorized constructions, the Jammu Development Authority (JDA), in close coordination with the District Administration, on Wednesday launched a decisive demolition drive at Gole, Khasra No. 746, sending a loud and clear warning to encroachers and violators of the city’s Master Plan.
During the intensive operation, four illegally raised plinths were identified and razed to the ground. Officials confirmed that these constructions were not only in brazen violation of the Jammu Master Plan but also lacked any legal sanction or approval from the competent authority.
To preempt any resistance or breach of peace, the drive was executed under tight security cover with a well-coordinated deployment of JDA enforcement squads and police contingents. The operation was carried out seamlessly, with zero tolerance for any attempt to obstruct official action.
The anti-encroachment team, comprising DLM Garbi Rasheed and Tehsildar JDA Rashi Dutta, executed the demolition drive under the vigilant supervision of JDA Vice Chairman Rupesh Kumar. Besides Gole, similar drives were undertaken in Nardani, Lower Barnai, Marh, Bhalwal, and adjoining areas, sending a clear message that violations of land use norms will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Vice Chairman Rupesh Kumar, while speaking to the media, minced no words in warning unscrupulous builders and land sharks that the days of illegal constructions slipping through loopholes are over. He urged the general public to exercise utmost caution before putting their hard-earned savings into land deals. Buyers must diligently verify land use details, secure all permissions from RERA and other statutory bodies, and ensure that every aspect of their investment is legally sound to avoid ruinous losses later.
Reiterating JDA’s unwavering resolve, Kumar stressed that the Authority will pursue encroachments and unauthorised structures with iron-handed resolve and that violators will be made to face the full might of the law. He made it abundantly clear that the JDA will not allow any encroachment to compromise the city’s planned development and vital public infrastructure.
The fresh crackdown serves as a stern reminder that illegal occupation of public land and unauthorized constructions shall not be tolerated in Jammu’s expanding urban landscape. The JDA has vowed to intensify its vigilance and continue such demolition drives to preserve the city’s orderly growth and protect scarce land resources from being devoured by unscrupulous elements.
