Security Forces bust terrorist hideout at Sangla Top in Surankote

Rajouri, March 23: In a major achievement, the Indian Army and J&K Police, in a joint operation against a terror network, recovered a significant cache of arms, ammunition, IEDs, and narcotics from a terrorist hideout at Sangla Top in Surankote tehsil of Poonch district on Sunday (March 23) evening.
The search and destroy operation was conducted by troops of 16 RR, 39 RR, and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Poonch Police after receiving intelligence-based input about terrorist activity in the general forest area of Sarabara near Sangla Top, under the area of operation of 16 RR of 6 Sector RR.
During the search, the troops successfully busted the hideout and recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition, drugs, and IEDs.
A post on X by the White Knight Corps read: “Operation Nandiyali on March 23: Recovery of heavy Arms, Ammunition, IEDs, and Narcotics was made in an intelligence-based joint search operation by the Indian Army and J&K Police from Sangla Top, Surankote, Poonch; thwarting a major terrorist attempt in the Rajouri & Poonch area and disrupting their operational capabilities.”
Items Recovered:
Weapons: 3 AK-47 rifles with 23 magazines and 922 AK rounds
Explosives: 4 bomb IEDs (Chinese packing), 5 Chinese H36 grenades, 2 stun grenades
Detonators and Devices: 19 non-electric detonators, 1 timer mechanism (watch type)
Ammunition: 13 rounds of 9mm ball ammunition
Narcotics: 200 grams of Chitta powder
Other equipment: 3 meters of cortex wire, 10 safety fuses, 1 four-inch cylinder, combat dress, gun oil, batteries, etc.
In October 2022, a combat bag containing 4 hand grenades, 4 UBGL grenades, 1 Chinese pistol, 1 pistol magazine, 50 AK-47 rifle bullets, 1 AK-47 magazine, and 10 IED batteries was also recovered from Sangla Top.
