Jammu, Dec 26: Continuing its vigorous campaign against drug trafficking and substance abuse under the highly successful Operation SANJEEVANI, Jammu Police achieved a significant breakthrough by recovering 408 grams of heroin (Chitta), valued at several lakhs, from a notorious drug peddler, Yaqoob Ali, a resident of Babu Bari, Hoshiarpur, Punjab. The drugs were recovered at BC Road, under the jurisdiction of the Bus Stand Police Station, marking yet another significant victory in the region’s ongoing fight against the drug menace.
The operation was carried out by a dedicated police team from the Bus Stand Police Station, led by the dynamic SHO Inspector Vikas Dogra, who has been at the forefront of anti-drug operations in the region. Under his vigilant leadership, and with the close supervision of SDPO City North and SP North, the team was able to successfully apprehend the drug peddler, thwarting a major trafficking attempt. The arrest came after a tip-off was received, leading to a well-coordinated naka duty at BC Road, where the accused was intercepted.
