Bijnor, Dec 23: An impressive program was held in Bijnor to commemorate the birth anniversary of the illustrious Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya, organized by the Brahmin Maha Sabha Uttar Pradesh in collaboration with the World Brahmin Federation. The event, which drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, was graced by Pt. Ravi Kant Sharma, Chairman of the World Brahmin Federation, as the chief guest. The gathering came together to honor the remarkable legacy of Pt. Malviya, one of India’s most revered educational and social reformers, whose contributions continue to inspire generations.

In his address to the gathering, Pt Ravi Kant Sharma spoke passionately about the life and contributions of Pt Madan Mohan Malviya, who was born on December 25, 1861, in Allahabad. Due to his monumental work, Pt. Malviya was affectionately called “Mahamana.” He began his career as a teacher at the Allahabad District School and later became one of the most respected educationists in the country. Pt Malviya’s most significant contribution was the establishment of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 1915, a beacon of learning that continues to serve the nation.
Pt Sharma elaborated on Malviya’s early legal career, noting that after obtaining his LLB, he started practicing in the District Court and later moved to the Allahabad High Court in 1893. From 1885 to 1907, Malviya also edited three influential newspapers-Hindustan, Indian Union, and Abhyuday-playing a crucial role in shaping public opinion during the freedom struggle. By bridging the gap between the moderate and extremist factions, he emerged as one of the prominent leaders of India’s independence movement. He was also one of the founding leaders of the right-wing Hindu Mahasabha and was known for his work in social reforms and as a successful Member of Parliament.
Pt Sharma emphasized the importance of respecting and uplifting the Brahmin community, stating, “Those who honor the Brahmins will rule the nation.” He called on the Brahmin community to unite and work together to ensure that their children receive better education and opportunities. He also addressed the issue of exploitation faced by Brahmins in Uttar Pradesh, declaring that his organization would never tolerate any such injustice. He lamented the current plight of the Brahmin community, which, despite their contributions, still faces challenges in many parts of the country.
He further emphasized that Pt Madan Mohan Malviya worked to unite the nation and strengthen it, and we should all follow the ideals set by such great personalities. He inspired the community to ensure that their children are given the best education to secure a brighter future.
Pt Sharma also spoke about the priests who perform rituals along the banks of the Ganges, urging that they be provided with better facilities to ensure they face no difficulties in their sacred work. He called on the government to prioritize the upliftment of Kashmiri Pandits, who have faced hardships and deserve special attention and support.
In a powerful statement, Pt Sharma declared, “To save Hindustan, we must save Hindutva. To save Hindutva, we must save Brahminism.” This bold assertion was met with applause, reflecting the collective resolve to preserve the core values of Hinduism and the Brahmin way of life.
The program was presided over by Pt Dharmender Sharma, while Subodh Prashar, former MLC, and Dinesh Sharma graced the event as special guests. The program also featured prominent poets who participated with their thought-provoking verses, including Dr Brijesh Mishra, Sushila Sharma, Ram Kumar Sharma ‘Ragee,’ Pratibha Tripathi, Sanjeev Akle, and Dr Anil Sharma.
The event was a resounding success, celebrating the life and ideals of Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya while reaffirming the commitment to empowering the Brahmin community, preserving its values, and working towards a united and strong India.
