Srinagar, Dec 22: A potential rift within the ruling Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) seems to have come to the fore as Member of Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi prepares to lead a protest against the government’s reservation policy, setting up a confrontation with his own party leader and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah.
Ruhullah announced his intention to protest outside the Chief Minister’s residence on Gupkar Road at 2:00 PM today, demanding “rationality in the reservation policy.” This follows his earlier promise on social media to join the public outcry if the government failed to address the issue by December 22.
