On PS SED’s direction, DC constitutes committee to collect aggrieved teacher’s representations

Rajouri, July 20: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal on the direction of the Principal Secretary (PS) to Government School Education Department (SED) vide his office order (No. DCR/2023-24/PA/125-133 dt 19/7/2023) has constituted a 8 member committee to take representations of aggrieved under transfer teachers who have raised objections and made allegations of nepotism in the transfer list released on July 10 by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri.
Alleging favouritism in the transfer list of teachers released by the CEO, a deputation of female teachers met the Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal & urged him to intervene in the matter.
Earlier aggrieved teachers met with District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Adv Naseem Liaqat, and apprised him about the gross violation of norms in the transfers of the teachers under ATD Policy framed by the Administrative Department.
DDC Chairman also wrote to Principal SecretarySED to intervene, quash the list and conduct an inquiry into the allegations made by the aggrieved teachers.
The representatives of Rajouri Civil Society also held a protest demonstration on Monday outside the DC’s office to express their resentment and demand Administrative Inquiry into alleged large-scale favouritism & nepotism in the transfers of the teachers.
Representatives, including Shafqat Mir, Tazeem Dar; Sain Abdul Rashid, DDC member Rajouri; Ishtiaq Bhat, also submitted a memorandum to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary UT of J&K, & Principal Secretary, School Education Department, through Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to intervene and to take action in this matter.
After the release of the list, resentment has been brewing up among the affected teachers, especially women & handicapped who either were transferred to hard zones or to the schools situated at long distances (between 50-80 kms to travel daily basis) from their homes.
After direction from Principal Secretary, SED, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri constituted 8 members committee to take written representations from the offices of CEO & Joint Director, SED Rajouri-Poonch & shall process these representations by verifying individual cases of the applicants in view of the existing transfer policy.
“The committee shall forward its recommendations on an individual basis to the Director School Education Jammu for further necessary action within 3 days positively” read the DC order issued on July 19.
The committee members include Rajiv Kumar Khajuria, Additional DC Rajouri (Chairman); 7 members Zaman Shah, Pricipal HSS Chingus; Sanjeev Suri, Principal BHSS Sunderbani; Ravinder Singh, Principal HSS Bhawani; Riaz Malik, Pricipal HSS Moughla; Shamshir Ahmed Khan, Principal HSS Gambhir Muglan; Smt Pawan Sharma, Principal HSS Dhangri; & Smt Parvez Akhter, Zonal Education Officer, Thanamandi.
