Jammu, Apr 7: Today Range Police Hqrs. Jammu is organizing Volleyball tournament in the memory of Shaheed Dy.SP Gulbadhan Singh Bhau, in which 16 teams of Male and 03 teams of women has been participated. The said tournament is conducted under Civic Action Programme 2022-2023 in Jammu University, Jammu inaugrated by Chief Guest worthy DIG Jammu Sh. Shakti Kumar Pathak IPS, Staff officer to DIG Jammu Sh. Rajinder Singh Katoch was the Guest of Honour.
The event starts with the welcome of the Chief Guest with band and offering tributes to the Shaheed Dy.SP Gulbadhan Singh Bhau.
Dy.SP Rphq Jatinder Singh tied badge to DIG Jammu, Ado Rphq Dy.SP Raman Kumar tied badge to Staff officer to DIG Jammu and Sub Inspector Suresh Kumar & ASI Tarsem Lal tied badge to SDPO South, Jammu.
DIG, Jammu Sh. Shakti Kumar Pathak, IPS while addressing media shared that the main motive of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to organizing such tournament is to remember the sacrifice of Shaheed Dy.SP Gulbadhan Singh Bhau for his country and encourage youth to take more part in sports activities and stay away from drugs and bad company.
Staff officer to DIG Jammu Sh. Rajinder Singh Katoch, SSP briefed about the sacrifice and achievements of Shaheed Gulbadhan Singh Bhau and fixture of the Volleyball tournament and also said that the Semifinal and Final match of the tournament will played in the birth place of Shaheed Dy.SP Sh.Gulbadhan Singh Bhau.
General public from different areas were also present to boost the morale of the Players and appreciated the efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Police for organizing such event.
Today total 07 match (05 male and 02 female) has been played in Jammu University Volleyball ground. In first match Mahadev Club Kaku de Kothey, Arnia beat Volleyball Club Balle Bagh Akhnoor, In second match Porgo Club Pargwal beat Gulbadhan Club Pallanwala, In third match Border Line Club Pallanwala beat Pangali Tigers Club, In fourth match Volleyball Club Khour beat Volleyball Club Naryana Lower and in fifth match Porgo Club Pargwal beat Mahadev Club Kaku De Kothey, Arnia. In female first match, Army Children Club beat Trikuta Warrior and in second match Trikuta Club Jammu beat Army Children Club.
DIG JSK Range, Jammu Sh. Shakti Kumar Pathak IPS, Staff officer to DIG Jammu Sh. Rajinder Singh Katoch SSP, DySP Rphq Sh. Raman Kumar, Dy.SP Rphq, Sh. Jatinder Singh Sambyal and Inspector Anjoo Pandita distributed Cash Prize to the Runner up, Winning teams and congratulated all the teams for their efforts.
The whole event is organizing under the control and command of DIG Jammu and Overall supervision of Staff Officer to DIG Jammu. The team members of CAP RPHQ, Jammu were also present in the venue site and played a vital role for smooth functioning of the event.
