Spain Masters Super 300: Sindhu settles for silver medal

Madrid, Apr 2:(UNI) India’s PV Sindhu on Sunday lost to Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in the finals of the women’s singles of the Madrid Spain Masters Super 300 badminton tournament here.
Sindhu who had been out of action for most of 2022 due to injury did well to reach the finals of this very competitive tournament but fell short in the penultimate match losing to the Indonesian in straight sets 8-21, 8-21.
Apart from the final match Sindhu was at her dominating best throughout this tournament as she didn’t drop a single game en route to the final.
Sindhu was considered the favorite going into the final as she enjoyed a 7-0 head to head record against the 23 year old Indonesian.
