Akhnoor, Mar 28: Police Martyrs tournament was today inaugurated at Akhnoor by SDM Akhnoor Akhil Sadhotra along with SDPO Akhnoor Mohan sharma. SHO Akhnoor Harjeet Singh and large number of locals were also present on the occasion.
The Cricket tournament is being organized in the loving memory of J&K Police martyrs who had laid down their lives to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of Nation.
The Cricket Tournament will be played on knock out basis. In the said tournament, 8 Cricket teams of boys are going to participate. The inaugural match was played between Akhnoor Cricket Club and Singh Cricket Club in which Singh Cricket Club team won the match.
SDM Akhnoor appreciated Police initiatives and said such sports activities being organized by J&K Police provides a better platform for the sports persons to explore their talents and channelizing their energy in right directions.
SDPO Akhnoor on the occasion said that the tournament is being organized every year in memory of our martyrs and added that looking after the families of our martyrs has always been the utmost priority of J&K Police and thanked locals for supporting Police in all events.
