Rajouri, November 22: Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kandi Health Block in Rajouri district through a notice has warned legal action against those Photostat shop owners who are selling ‘official Performa’ with letterhead illegally to the beneficiaries required for old age certificate.
It is pertinent to mention here that recently Social Welfare Department vide order No: 156-JK (SWD) dt 8/9/2022 under the guidelines of the Integrated Social Security Scheme-2022 (ISSS-2022) has made mandatory ‘old age certificate’ to be issued by the Medical Board for the grant of old age pension only for those beneficiaries who don’t possess any date birth certificate proof.
The Photostat shop owners under Kandi Health Block have been found selling Official Performa for exorbitant money for a single piece of paper to the beneficiaries actually which is not necessary because the Health Department will issue certificates free of cost.
“It has been brought to the notice of the undersigned (BMO)that some Photostat shop are issuing Official Performa with letterhead (which is illegal)for certificates required for the ‘old age pension scheme’. They charge exorbitant money for a single piece of paper.” Read BMO’s public notice.
These senior citizens, widows, divyangjan must be respected & all stakeholders have a moral responsibility to felicitate them instead of profiteering, the notice read.
“It is hereby informed that the certificate for pension under ISSS-2022 are being issued by the office of the BMO, Kandi completely free of cost, and the beneficiaries are informed to bring only original documents. Besides, beneficiaries need not bring any Performa/Photocopy of any document. Legal action shall be taken for any violation by private operators” BMO’s order further reads.
