Srinagar, Nov 7: Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari on Monday alleged that BJP is running the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir through backdoor.
“BJP is running the backdoor government and initiating the proceedings without any accountability which is delaying the election process in Jammu and Kashmir”, Bukhari told media persons in Uri on Monday.
He said it is evident that BJP is delaying the elections in Jammu and Kashmir and there is no hide and seek in this issue.
He said there are so many public issues which need to be redressed and it would happen only when there is an elected government in power, he said and added Lieutenant Governor cannot do all the work single handedly.
“We want to convey a message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah that people here have been suffering for the past four years without any democratic setup at the grass root level. They need their representatives in Jammu and Kashmir to resolve their long pending issues”, he added.
Bukhari said he would hold a public rally on November 12 and expect a huge gathering during which he will seek the release of youth, old aged persons who are languishing in various jails in and outside Kashmir.
Bukahri said Kashmir has been witnessing this kind of situation since the 90’s and the youth should be given a chance to live a peaceful life.
Regarding the announcement of former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah not to contest polls till statehood is restored, Bukari said it is their own point of view.
“…may be they thought by doing boycott the Article 370 and 35A get restored…let us see…if it happens it is good,” he said.
“Elections are being held for the purpose of the people not to a particular leader and party,” he said and added people need the elected representatives to get their problems resolved.
Regarding targeted killings he said ,”neither the killer has his religion nor the person being killed. It is the assassination of the human being and humanity…it is very unfortunate and shameful for all of us”. UNI
