New Delhi, June 21: (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and two Ministers of State – V Muraleedharan and Meenakshi Lekhi, participated in International Yoga Day celebrations in different parts of the country, while MoS Rajkumar Ranjan Singh participated in an IYD event in Cambodia’s Angkor Wat temple.
EAM Jaishankar participated in an IYD event at Purana Qila in New Delhi, with members of the diplomatic community, international and Indian students. Muraleedharan participated in an event at the Padmanabhaswamy temple in Kerala, while Meenakshi Lekhi was leading the IYD event at the iconic Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari.
Rajkumar Ranjan Singh was at the iconic Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia alongwith senior government officials and members of the Indian Embassy in Cambodia, and 400 young boys and girls.
The EAM said in a tweet:
“Participated this morning at the #YogaDay event at Purana Qila, New Delhi.
“With members of the diplomatic community, international and Indian students amongst others.”

MoS Meenakshi Lekhi in a tweet said:
“Delighted to celebrate the #InternationalDayofYoga from the southern tip of India, the iconic Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari.
“Yoga, India’s most cherished cultural heritage is a gift to the world towards the global cause of health & wellness for all.”
Muraleedharan posted a video of the celebrations at the Padmanabhaswamy temple in
Thiruvananthapuram, which was participated by some foreign students too.
MoS Rajkumar Ranjan Singh in a tweet said:
“Honoured to participate in #IDY2022 at the iconic #AngkorWat in Cambodia alongwith high officials and @indembcam including 400 young boys and girls.”
MoS Singh is in Phnom Penh on a three-day visit.
