Tehsildar Sunderbani Ravi Shanker assaulted for honesty, 3 other injured, police register two cases

Sunderbani, Apr 13: How will officer discharge their duties fearlessly? What kind of trend people are trying to create in Sunderbani? Who is behind in this scuffle? Who is going to be benefitted from the clash? How many land-encroachers existing in Sunderbani? How many property dealers are in Sunderbani? Which group wanted to harm the honest Tehsildar Ravi Shanker Sharma? These are some specific concerns which should be properly investigated with other angles to unearth the hidden reason for attacking the Tehsildar.
The district administration Rajouri on Wednesday ordered an inquiry into the incident of attack on Tehsildar Sunderbani by some local residents and goons just before launch of an anti-encroachment drive in the town,
Pertinently, during a recent visit to Sunderbani, Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal was apprised about the problem of road congestion on Sub District Hospital road due to encroachment.
The Deputy Commissioner had ordered Revenue authorities to look into the matter and clear the encroachment.
“Today, when Sunderbani administration was going to launch an anti encroachment drive some people reached residence of Tehsildar Sunderbani and entered into verbal dual with him and tried to pressurise the officer to shun the plan of this drive,” said Vinod Kumar ADC Sunderbani.
He further said that when the Tehsildar refused to budge, these people assaulted him and he got injured. He was taken to sub district hospital Sunderbani and then referred to Jammu GMC.
Meanwhile, soon after the incident, district administration Rajouri swung into action and launched the already scheduled anti encroachment drive and retrieved ten Marla prime land located in the heart of the Sunderbani town.
The drive was conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vinod Behnal in the presence of police authorities.
This is the first time in tehsil Sunderbani a clash in occurred between tehsildar and encroachers, whereas there persons are injured all was shift in sub district hospital (SDH) Sunderbani.

Subsequently there was scuffle in which at least four persons including the Tehsildar were injured. They were subsequently hospitalized, they said.
SDPO Noweshra Tausif Ahmed told to media persons that Police have registered two separate FIRs against all accused persons involved in the two separate incidents. Police have registered two FIRs after Tehsildar Sunderbani and some employees were injured amid a scuffle in Rajouri.
Official sources told that some persons entered the office of the tehsildar and had heated argument with officers/officials there. Subsequently there was scuffle in which at least four persons including the Tehsildar were injured. They were subsequently hospitalized, they said.

Two FIRs registered FIR No. 20/2022 was registered against Chandar Mohan and Anil Lakhanpal both R/O Sundarbani under section 452/353/323 IPC,” he said, adding, “Second Case FIR No. 21/2022 was registered against Devinder Kumar Sudan and 03 others under section 147,452 336 323 IPC.” He said that the investigation of both cases have began and arrests are likely to be executed.
When media person contact with Tehsildar Sunderbani Ravi Shankar Sharma he said such persons encroached state land and buil shops three months ago ADC Sunderbani has given us directions for remove encroachment. So some persons came in my office and did that incident.
