Punjab: 15-year-old girl raped by her uncle

Hoshiarpur, Oct 30: A 15-year-old girl was raped by her uncle in a village under Mahilpur police station of this district, police said on Saturday.
According to the police sources, the victim stated that her mother, who had been working in a thread mill in Hoshiarpur, left the house early in the morning for work. On the morning of February 28, 2021, her uncle Jasbir Singh of Mazara Dingrian, came into her room where she was sleeping and allegedly raped her.
Jasbir Singh later allegedly threatened to eliminate her and her family if she told anyone about the incident, said police.
The victim was again allegedly raped by Jasbir Singh about eight days later, police said.
Later, the victim mother became suspicious and got her medically examined. During her medical check up her mother came to know about her pregnancy. When she inquired from her, the victim narrated the incident to her, police said.
Investigating officer Jaskaran Kaur said that Jasbir Singh had been arrested under and booked under Section 4 of the POCSO Act. UNI
