British Army Chief on a four-day visit to India, meets CDS, Army chief

New Delhi, Oct 26: British Army Chief General Marks Carleton-Smith on Tuesday started a four-day visit to India, and met Army Chief General MM Naravane.
General Carleton-Smith, Chief of the General Staff, British Army also laid a wreath at the War memorial in Delhi on Tuesday morning, and was inspected a Guard of Honour at the South Block.
He also met Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat. The two exchanged views on further enhancing the bilateral defence cooperation between the two armies.
The visit comes in the backdrop of Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, and continuing tension along India’s northern and western borders.
The British General would be in India till October 29. UNI
