Army will always support JK Police to fight militancy: GoC DP Pandey
Says those who try to disturb peace will be dealt with iron hand
Srinagar, Oct 25: General Officer Commanding (GoC) of Srinagar based 15 corps Lt. General D P Pandey today said everyone who tries to distrub peace in Jammu and Kashmir will be dealt with iron hand.
He said J&K police plays a major role and army gives full support to them in tackling militancy and law and order.
Pandey said the hostile element who try to infiltrate and create havoc in the valley will be dealt strictly and will be neutralized.
Addressing reporters on the sidelines of a short films screening function here at BB Cantt in which a large number of Kashmiri youth took part DP Pandey said that their duty is to enquire about every illegal weapon and person whosoever comes across According to associated news bureau ANB correspondent
The screening of four short films were produced by 11 Kashmiri youths under the mentorship of renowned Bollywood Director Onir.
He said every country, every state and every community necessarily has a rule of law.
“Our country also has a specified rule of law, based on which only Police and armed forces have the right to own a weapon and the police also gets the right to use that weapon if defence action and safeguard of public is required,” he said.
He said that the Police always have been on forefront and army has been a supporting hand for them.
“If anyone violates rule of law by giving death threats to common people and killing innocent people then definitely police and army have to take action against such enemies of humanity,” he as per ANB Correspondent
Pandey also said that army will always support and work with Jammu and Kashmir Police against anti-militancy groups who are trying to disrupt the atmosphere of peace. (ANB)
