63 kanal prime land vacated!
- Kavinder Gupta has denied that the said land was his but the land record clearly speaks that land stands on his name.
- The administration removed encroachments from a total of 63 kanals of government land in Jammu district.

Jammu, Jan 30: The district administration of Jammu under the determined guidance of Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa IAS has firmly made up its mind to get the entire state land vacated from the clutches of the encroachers irrespective their status and position. The revenue officers of Jammu district have become functional and active for the retrieval of state land and doing their job with dedication.
As part of the campaign to vacate encroachment on government land, the district administration has vacated 23.9 kanals of land from former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Kavinder Gupta and his family members in village Kang of Bhalwal tehsil. However, former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta has denied ownership of the said land. Kavinder Gupta says that he or his family has nothing to do with the said land. According to the government records, the Girdawari of the said government land is on the name of Kavinder Gupta. Today, amid heavy rains, a team of Revenue Department under the supervision of Tehsildar Bhalwal Ashok Chakarvarti reached Kang village and barricaded the said land and put up boards to substantiate that this land belongs to government. The board clearly signifies that government is owner of the said land and strict action will be taken under law against those who will try to encroach the said land. While the Deputy Commissioner Avni Lavasa has mentioned that state land has been vacated from the possession of former Deputy Chief Minister in village Kaing.
Whereas, the revenue department of district Jammu, under the anti-encroachment campaign, got 21 kanals of land vacated by the government near Tawi farm, Bishnah bridge in village Dilli. Apart from this, one kanal of land on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway was cleared. Another team of the Revenue Department freed 12 kanals of government land from illegal encroachments in village Gol, Tehsil Jammu West and installed government boards on it, in which it was written that the said land is government.
