Funds embezzled in Jammu-Akhnoor Four Lane road project!
*All muck has been created by Patwaris of several Patwar Halqas following under Sub Division North!
*Land procurement has been done, money paid but to all wrong people.
*The poor whose lands have really been taken over have been left stranded as they have received no payments.
*Payments to the tune of 15 to 26 Lakhs have been made to the fake contenders with all the documentary wizardry done by the Patwaris.
*If sources are to be believed then re-verification was done when the people complained but nothing substantial happened.
*It’s rather perplexing that those who have been paid off do not even have an inch of land yet they have been shown as land lords.
*This is a big bag money scam that needs to be investigated by a top agency. Incidentally the money has been signed out by SDM Jammu North!

Disreputable and heinous acts are often carried out in the name of development. In this case the revenue officials especially the Patwaris of various Halqas on Jammu-Akhnoor have slyly duped the administration and siphoned of funds to the wrong people with a devious motive. For the four lanes to come up on Jammu-Akhnoor road land was required and that had obviously to be procured from the locals who were the owners. In fact they had constructed, houses, shops which had to be dozed off to get the requisite width of the upcoming road. The locals were enthusiastic because this was a mega developmental project which for them was more than welcome. But then came in the deluge and the people soon realized that many wrongs had been committed on the issue of land take over. They once again realized that revenue officials do not always abide by the truth; instead truth is manipulated and distorted by them with deft documentation as they are experts at that.
Everything should have gone on in a smooth way instead, it was greed and easy money that took over the on field revenue officials. Once the people have become doubtful about the truth of anything, all kinds of things will be open to us. In this case they are revealing several things which are stupefying! What happened?
*Land was procured, measurements taken and  documents submitted for scrutiny. It was here where the entire fiasco began. It could be called as the big heist.
*Money was sanctioned to be paid to the owners whose lands had been taken over. But that did not happen and instead it found its way to banks of the fictitious contenders.
*In one case 26 Lakhs has been paid to a certain man. The money reached his account and on the very next day the man drew out the money and today that account is no functional. Stranger still, the man has no land on ground.
*There are many cases in which money to the amount of 12 Lakhs, 15 Lakhs and 16 Lakhs have been paid off but the real time owners whose lands have been procured are on a limbo!
*Those rendered helpless are saying that it has all been done on partnership basis with cheating the poor being the template adopted.
*People did raise hue and cry and thereafter verification was ordered. But nothing came out of that also and the things are same as they were, the poor are helpless, they have given their lands and return got nothing yet far!
So here is a situation for the administration to sort out. This is a mega buck scam and has been ignited by the revenue officials. This is the beginning as Jammu Jottings would go on to uncover yet another tale of corruption horrors so synonymous with UT Jammu and Kashmir now. Finally all I want to tell the revenue officials is you can believe in whatsoever you like, but the truth remains the truth, no matter how sweet the lie may taste!
