Jammu, August 12, 2026: A fresh set of GPS tagged videos recorded late at night has raised serious questions over alleged mining activity in and around Chak Ganeshu, Jammu, with visual material showing sustained illumination and apparent movement across the area long after normal working hours.

The footage available with Jammu Jottings was recorded on August 12, 2026 and carries embedded GPS Map Camera information, including exact coordinates and timestamps. The videos show a dark landscape with multiple powerful lights and movement spread across the recorded area, raising the possibility of ongoing mining or mining related activity during late night hours.

The first set of visuals records Chak Ganeshu, 180003, at coordinates around 32.666754 latitude and 74.764001 longitude. The timestamps displayed on the footage include 10:49:38 PM, 10:49:46 PM, 10:49:53 PM and 10:50:07 PM on August 12.

A second sequence recorded a short distance away carries coordinates 32.666759 latitude and 74.764004 longitude. The GPS overlay shows the location as Chak Ganeshu and timestamps in the footage include 10:52:51 PM, 10:52:47 PM, 10:52:59 PM, 10:53:11 PM, 10:53:25 PM and 10:53:37 PM.

A third set of visuals records another location at approximately 32.669708 latitude and 74.773778 longitude, with the GPS Map Camera marking the time at 11:01:47 PM. Additional frames from the same sequence carry timestamps around 11:01 PM, showing continuing activity and multiple light sources visible across the dark landscape.

The close time sequence is significant. The footage does not show an isolated light appearing briefly in the area. Instead, it records repeated illumination and apparent movement at more than one GPS location over a period of around twelve minutes.

The central question now before the concerned authorities is simple: what activity was taking place at these locations between 10:49 PM and 11:01 PM?

If the movement shown in the videos relates to mining, excavation, loading or transportation of minor minerals, then the timing could raise serious questions regarding compliance with restrictions governing mining operations.

The videos by themselves do not conclusively establish the identity of machinery or the exact nature of the activity. That determination must come from an on site inspection by the competent authorities. But the GPS tagged timing and repeated visual activity provide sufficient grounds for an immediate verification, particularly if the area falls within a regulated mining zone.

The matter assumes added importance because illegal extraction of minor minerals can result in loss of royalty revenue to the Government, environmental damage and disruption of natural land and water systems.

The activity has also brought Shubam Stone Crusher under scrutiny in connection with allegations of mining related operations in the area.

Whether the activity visible in the videos is directly connected with Shubam Stone Crusher is a matter that must be established through official inspection, ownership records, vehicle movement, mining permits and other documentary evidence.

The Geology and Mining Department should verify whether the unit has valid permissions covering the location shown in the footage, whether extraction was authorised at the time the recordings were made and whether any transportation of minor minerals was carried out.

A proper investigation should also determine whether the material, if any, was being extracted from a permitted site and whether royalty and other statutory payments were being made.

The timing shown in the videos is perhaps the most important aspect of the latest evidence.

The first recording places activity at 10:49 PM. Further recordings from the same general area continue until around 10:53 PM, while another GPS location records activity at approximately 11:01 PM.

If the visuals are found to represent mining or associated commercial operations, the timing requires an immediate explanation from the concerned operator and the authorities responsible for monitoring the area.

Were there any written permissions for operations at these hours?

Was the activity part of an authorised operation?

Were the machines operating for excavation, loading, transportation or another lawful purpose?

Was any Government enforcement team present in the area at the time?

And if not, how did such activity continue without detection?

These questions are particularly important in view of complaints already raised in the Jammu region about alleged unauthorised mineral extraction and the need for stronger monitoring of riverbeds and other vulnerable areas.

The recordings identify Chak Ganeshu and provide coordinates such as 32.666754/74.764001, 32.666759/74.764004 and 32.669708/74.773778, along with precise timestamps.

The importance of such information lies not in proving a violation by itself, but in enabling the competent authorities to locate the exact area and conduct an independent inspection.

The Geology and Mining Department, the local administration and other concerned agencies can now verify the coordinates, identify the land and determine whether any mining lease, permit, consent or other authorisation covered the activity visible in the footage.

If authorised operations are found to have been carried out, the authorities can put the matter to rest by producing the relevant permissions and records.

The authorities should also clarify whether any inspection was conducted after the videos emerged and whether any violation was detected.

For the public, the concern is straightforward. Natural resources belong to the State and, ultimately, to the people. Their extraction is subject to regulation precisely to protect revenue, the environment and public interest.

The late night videos from Chak Ganeshu, carrying identifiable GPS coordinates and timestamps between 10:49 PM and 11:01 PM on August 12, 2026, have now placed the focus squarely on the enforcement machinery.

The question is no longer whether the footage exists. It does.

The question is what was happening there at that hour, who authorised it, who benefited from it and why the monitoring system did not stop or immediately detect it.

The answers now rest with the Geology and Mining Department and the concerned district authorities. A transparent site inspection and verification of the GPS coordinates, mining permissions and revenue records would establish whether the footage shows legitimate operations or a fresh case of unauthorised mining that demands immediate action.
