Jammu, April 01, 2026: In a significant breakthrough under the supervision of SSP ANTF Jammu And Kashmir Shri Anwaar Ul Haq JKPS, the Anti Narcotics Task Force Jammu And Kashmir apprehended four inter state narcotics smugglers and seized approximately 10 kilograms of high quality Charas during a naka operation on National Highway 44 near IIM Nagrota.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a cab was intercepted and subjected to thorough checking as per established legal procedures. During the search, a large consignment of high grade Charas was recovered from the vehicle, leading to the immediate arrest of all four occupants.
The accused have been identified as Amar Chand S/O Jabba Ram R/O Jati Gali, PO Kalla, District Ramban; Sachin Verma S/O Girish Kumar Verma R/O Balram Pur, District Gonda, Uttar Pradesh; Vijay Verma S/O Ishwardeen R/O Malari, District Gonda, Uttar Pradesh; and Aakash Ramsuhel Verma S/O Ramsuhel Verma R/O Plot No. 368, Jagdamba Nagar, CR Patil Road, Dindoli, Surat City, Gujarat.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the accused are part of an inter state narcotics syndicate operating across multiple regions. The seized consignment is suspected to have been sourced from Ramban district and was being transported for distribution in Mumbai, pointing to an organised supply chain linking Jammu And Kashmir with major metropolitan markets.
A case FIR No. 3/2026 has been registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway to establish forward and backward linkages of the network and identify other associates involved in the operation.
SSP Anwaar Ul Haq JKPS reiterated that ANTF Jammu And Kashmir is committed to dismantling organised drug networks and will continue to intensify operations against narcotics trafficking across the region.
