Jammu, March 18, 2026: In a stunning display of professional policing and rapid response, Jammu Police, under the overall guiding hand of SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, has successfully solved a blind murder case within a remarkable 24 hours. Led by SDPO City South Kuljeet Singh and SHO Police Station Satwari Inspector Jai Pal Singh, along with their dedicated team, two accused individuals have been apprehended, bringing swift justice in a case that initially offered few leads. The chilling discovery occurred on March 16, 2026, at approximately 9:30 PM, when Police Station Satwari received information regarding a male dead body found on a bridge on the road connecting Chatha to Miran Sahib, near SKUAST-Jammu. Preliminary examination of the deceased, a Sikh male aged approximately 46–47 years, revealed a fatal injury to the neck caused by a sharp-edged weapon, indicating a deliberate attack that resulted in excessive blood loss and death. In response to this grave incident, FIR No. 66/2026 under Section 103 of the BNS Code and Sections 4 & 25 of the Arms Act was immediately registered at Police Station Satwari, launching an intensive investigation.
The investigative team, comprising SDPO City South Kuljeet Singh, SHO Police Station Satwari Inspector Jai Pal Singh, IC PP Chatha PSI Tanvinder Singh, IC PP Gadigarh PSI Jarnail Singh, and PSI Wasim Bhatti, swiftly visited the crime scene and initiated proceedings. The arrested individuals were identified as Davinder Singh, son of Nain Singh, a resident of Bhour Camp Ward No. 1, and Ravinder Singh @ Fathey, son of Amrik Singh, a resident of Govindpura Chatha. Upon interrogation, both accused confessed to committing the heinous crime, providing crucial details that are now part of the ongoing investigation. Further investigation also revealed that the deceased had ongoing disputes with his spouse, a factor that might have contributed to the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
