Jammu, December 24, 2025: Renowned journalist and artist of Jammu and Kashmir, King C. Bharati, has expressed his profound grief and deep sense of personal loss over the demise of Shri Subash Mehra, the esteemed Founder Editor of Jammu Jottings. Shri Mehra, who passed away this evening at Batra ASSCOMS Hospital after a prolonged illness, was a lifelong associate and close friend, with whom King C. Bharati shared the journey of establishing Jammu Jottings.
In a heartfelt statement, King C. Bharati recalled his close connection with Shri Subash Mehra, highlighting his instrumental role in the early days of Jammu Jottings. “It is with immense sorrow that I learned of Subash ji’s passing,” Bharati stated. “He was not just a colleague but a dear friend and a visionary. Bharati, who has been associated with Jammu Jottings since its very inception, emphasized the void left by Shri Mehra’s absence. “His keen insight and personal touch will always be missed, not only in the crucial process of news gathering but also in the personal bonding that defined our association,” he added, reflecting on their long-standing camaraderie.
Expressing confidence in the future of the publication, King C. Bharati lauded Mohit Mehra, the Managing Editor of Jammu Jottings, whom he has known since childhood. “Mohit has the vision and the dedication to carry forward his father’s legacy,” Bharati affirmed. “I have full confidence that Mohit will realize the dream that Subash ji had envisioned for Jammu Jottings, and I firmly believe that under his leadership, Jammu Jottings will emerge as the topmost newspaper of Jammu and Kashmir.”
