CEO Rajouri Asked to Hold Preliminary Inquiry, Submit Actionable Report

Rajouri, November 15: Taking swift and stern action on a written complaint filed by residents and representatives of Ghambir Mughlan and neighboring areas, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma (IAS), on Saturday ordered the suspension of the principal and three staff members of Government Higher Secondary School Ghambir Mughlan over allegations of sexual abuse, misconduct, and inappropriate behaviour.
The Deputy Commissioner has directed the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Rajouri, to conduct a preliminary inquiry into the matter and furnish a detailed factual report within 15 days, complete with specific recommendations for further action.
The action follows the receipt of a formal representation from locals as well as the circulation of a CCTV video on social media, which intensified public concern regarding the safety and dignity of female students and staff at the institution. An FIR (No. 0102/2025, dated 09.11.2025) has already been lodged at Police Station Manjakote under relevant sections of law against the accused Principal and employees.

The officials placed under suspension include:
Mohd Farooq, Principal, GHSS Ghambir Mughlan
Tanveer Ajaz, Teacher
Manzoor Hussain, Class IV employee
Mushtaq Ahmed, Class IV employee
All four have been attached to the Office of the Chief Education Officer, Rajouri, pending completion of the inquiry.
DC Rajouri stated that the administration is treating the matter with the utmost seriousness and assured that the inquiry will be impartial, transparent, and free from any undue influence. He reiterated the Administration’s commitment to protecting the dignity, safety, and welfare of female students and staff across all educational institutions in the district.
The District Administration further assured the public that strict action will be taken once the inquiry report is submitted, making it clear that such incidents will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
