PDP Leader Farooq Inqlabi Slams Education Department for Inaction

Rajouri, June 4: Hard to believe, but it is a shocking revelation that right under the nose of the District Administration and the Chief Education Officer, a land donor has kept a government primary school at Trun, in Kotranka subdivision of Rajouri district, locked for the last ten years over a petty dispute—while the Education Department has remained silent.
Reportedly, the department failed to fulfill its alleged promise to appoint the land donor or a member of his family as a cook in the school.
For the past decade, the land donor has turned a portion of the school premises into a junkyard, effectively depriving local children of their fundamental right to education.
Senior PDP leader Farooq Inqlabi has strongly condemned the Education Department’s failure to resolve the issue.
“The premises, once meant to shape the future of young minds, have reportedly turned into a junk and scrap store due to long-standing negligence and inaction by the concerned authorities,” said Inqlabi.
“Despite repeated requests and representations to the officers, no concrete action has been taken. The department has turned a blind eye to the plight of these students,” he added while addressing the local media.
Inqlabi further stated that the matter revolves around a petty dispute concerning the appointment of a cook, a responsibility that falls on the shoulders of the Education Department officials.
“This is not just incompetence; it’s a betrayal of the students and their parents,” he remarked.
Inqlabi warned that if the school is not reopened immediately, parents, along with community members, will be forced to break the lock and reclaim the building for educational purposes.
“This school belongs to the children, not to any individual’s ego or to administrative apathy,” he asserted.
The continued closure of the school has raised serious concerns about governance and accountability in the rural education sector.
