Poonch: In a resolute endeavour to uphold public tranquility and social cohesion, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken decisive action against an individual accused of attempting to foment discord through the inappropriate use of social media platforms. The accused has been identified as Ajaz Ahmad, son of Mohd Bashir Sheikh, a resident of the village Salian in the Poonch district.
According to an official communiqué issued by the district police, the individual has been booked under preventive detention laws and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. “To maintain law and order in the region, Ajaz Ahmad has been booked under preventive detention and sent to judicial lockup. This proactive measure underscores the commitment of the Poonch Police to ensuring public safety and security,” the statement read.
The initiative, described by authorities as pre-emptive and precautionary, reflects the steadfast determination of the District Police Poonch to safeguard communal harmony, ensure civil order, and protect the wellbeing of its citizens. It exemplifies a zero-tolerance policy towards acts that threaten the socio-political equilibrium of the region.

“All social media platforms are being closely monitored,” the statement further noted. “The Poonch Police remains unwavering in its resolve to take stringent legal action against any individual or entity attempting to destabilise peace in the region.”
