ASP Poonch Mohan Lal Sharma visits shelling-affected Surankote, assures residents of support

Poonch, May 11: In the wake of recent cross-border shelling incidents impacting parts of Surankote, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Poonch, Mohan Lal Sharma, undertook an extensive visit to the affected region today. He was accompanied by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Surankote, Inspector Sachinder Singh.
The primary objective of the visit was to personally assess the ground realities in Surankote and its adjoining areas. During his tour, ASP Sharma actively engaged with members of the local population, listening to their concerns and experiences following the shelling. He conveyed the unwavering commitment of the Police Department to ensuring their safety and overall well-being during these challenging times.
ASP Sharma also conducted a thorough review of the existing security arrangements deployed in the area. He issued specific instructions to the concerned police officers on the ground, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and a swift, responsive approach to any emerging situations or threats.
Reiterating the steadfast support of the law enforcement agency, the Additional Superintendent of Police assured the residents that the Jammu & Kashmir Police stands firmly with them. He pledged that the department would continue to extend all possible support and assistance necessary to maintain peace and order in Surankote and its surrounding localities.
