Rajnath Singh to Hold Bilateral Meeting with Japanese Counterpart on Monday

Rajouri-Delhi, May 4: Raksha Mantri (Defence Minister) Rajnath Singh will hold a bilateral meeting with Japan’s Minister of Defence, Mr. Gen Nakatani, at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi on Monday (May 5). During the meeting, both sides will exchange views on the current regional and international security situation and explore ways to further deepen bilateral defence cooperation.
India and Japan share a long-standing friendship, which has gained significant momentum since the elevation of their ties to a Special Strategic and Global Partnership in 2014. Defence and security form key pillars of this relationship.
Defence exchanges between the two countries have grown stronger in recent years, driven by a growing convergence on strategic issues. Their cooperation holds increasing significance, especially given their shared outlook on peace, security, and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
This will be the second meeting between the two Defence Ministers within six months, following their first interaction on the sidelines of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus in Lao PDR in November 2024.
