JJ correspondent
Jammu, Jan 07: The Rural Development Department of Jammu has issued a call for applications under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) Awaasplus 2.0-2024 scheme for beneficiaries who were inadvertently left out during the recent survey in the Jammu district. The department has provided a one-week window for eligible individuals to submit their applications, urging them to do so within a period of seven days.
In a notice dated January 7, 2025, and referenced under office No. ACDJ/P&S/PMAY-G/2024-25/12628-53, Dr. Vikas Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Development Jammu (JKAS), has invited applications from those who were excluded during the initial survey. Eligible beneficiaries are instructed to submit their completed forms at the office of the concerned Block Development Officers (BDOs) within the stipulated seven-day period.
The notice further outlines that applicants must follow the revised guidelines under PMAY-G(Awaasplus 2.0-2024). A key component of the revised exclusion criteria for beneficiary identification includes a range of socio-economic factors. These factors for exclusion include a) Motorised three/four wheeler; b) Mechanized three/four wheel agricultural equipment; c) Kissan credit card with credit limit of Rs 50000 and above; d) Household with any member as a Government Employee; e) Household with non-agricultural enterprises registered with the Government; f) Any member of the family earning more than Rs 15000 per month; g) Paying income tax; h) Own 2.5 acres (20 kanal) or more of irrigated land; i) Own 5 acres (40 kanal) or more than irrigated land; and j) Already own a Pucca house.
In addition to meeting these criteria, applicants are required to submit geotagged photographs of their existing Kachha houses, both the inner and outer sides, along with a certificate from the concerned Numberdar and Chowkidar. This certificate must confirm that the applicant is from an independent family and does not own a Pucca house with more than two rooms.
Block Development Officers (BDOs) have been directed to process all the eligible applications in accordance with the guidelines of PMAY-G(Awaasplus 2.0-2024). Once the applications are reviewed, a compiled list of eligible applicants will be prepared and entered into the PMAY-G(Awaasplus 2.0-2024) survey, ensuring that no deserving individual is left behind in the scheme.
This initiative aims to ensure that every eligible rural household in Jammu district has the opportunity to benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which seeks to provide affordable housing to the rural poor. The department has encouraged all eligible individuals to make use of this final opportunity to apply for assistance.
