Awantipora, April 03 : In a significant breakthrough, Awantipora Police apprehended an absconder who had eluded capture for over two decades. The individual in question, Reyaz Ahmad Alaie S/O Abdul Rehman, hailing from Awantipora and residing in Mehjoor Nagar, Srinagar, was evading arrest since 2003 in connection with a case registered under FIR No. 19/2003 at Police Station Awantipora.
The arrest was made possible through the diligent efforts of a special police team, led by Mumtaz Ali Bhatti (SP) SDPO Awantipora, and comprising SHO Awantipora Inspector Zahoor Ahmed, among others. The team executed a warrant under Section 512 CrPC, issued by the Hon’ble Court of Principal Session Judge Pulwama, which had been pending against the accused.
Following the arrest, Reyaz Ahmad Alaie was promptly presented before the Hon’ble Court of Law to face legal proceedings. This significant development underscores the unwavering commitment of Awantipora Police to uphold the rule of law and ensure justice for victims of crime.
